What is mean by Overclocking?

- OVERCLOCKING
is the process of running a computer component  like CPU at higher clock rate more than clock cycles per second

-Due to it
CPU give full or even double CLOCKSPEED OR better performance

for e.g
considered an intel i3 processor with 2.93GHZ clk speed
& after overclocked
it give 3.3GHz
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
OVERCLOCKING usually done in
1. New processor like i3, core 2 duo,core 2 quad,amd phathom, & others

2. old processor(whch has 2.2Ghz clk speed)
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
OVERCLOCKING problems

-it is done very perfectly from bios or using overclocking software

-it require more voltage
-it may destruct cpu due to overheating of cpu
-it may also destruct ur RAM due to high CPU clk rate

plz comments if this topics is wrong
or tell us if u know more than this

some pics of overclocking from google:

SEE I3 PROCESSOR IS OVERCLOCKED TO 4.4GHz
(CPU CLOCK)

 SEE P4 OVERCLOCKED TO 3.6GHz

(OVERDRIVE) IS SOFTWARE FOR AMD TO OVERCLOCKED CPU AND GPU
